Lotus White Gaiwan

This gaiwan — or “lidded tea bowl” — is a classic vessel in Chinese tea culture, used for both steeping and drinking tea. Made in Dehua from coarse clay, it features a simple, rounded body and a domed lid designed for easy handling during gongfu tea practice.


The glaze is a warm, rustic lotus white — a soft off-white with natural speckles and tonal variations that reflect the wabi-sabi philosophy of beauty in imperfection.


Ideal for tea service, tea ceremonies, or for enjoying sake and other spirits traditionally served in small cups.
